There are many resources to help parents, children and other family members deal with the emotional and legal difficulties around separation and divorce. Below are local agencies available to assist individuals and families, as well as numerous books and materials on these subjects.
Overview

California law requires parents who are unable to agree on a child-sharing plan to attend child custody recommending counseling before a court hearing to try to reach agreement.
