FRAUD ALERT - JURY SERVICES

The State of California has issued public warnings about calls from individuals claiming to be court officials or law enforcement officers regarding jury service. The Court DOES NOT call, e-mail, or send letters requesting money or personal identifying information regarding jury service. If you are concerned that you are being targeted by this scam, please contact our Jury Services Division at (415) 444-7120 or send us an email at jury@marincourt.org.

Here are some agencies and on-line resources for individuals who need legal information, advice or are representing themselves in court.
California Courts Self Help Center On-Line
Department of Child Support Services
DCSS works with parents — custodial and noncustodial — and guardians to ensure children and families receive court-ordered financial and medical support.
Family and Children’s Law Center
This agency provides low-cost (based on sliding fee schedule) legal representation in family law matters, including domestic violence. Address: 30 North San Pedro Road, Suite 245, San Rafael. Phone: (415) 492-9230.
Lawyer Referral Service
For referrals to pre-screened, experienced Marin County attorneys in a variety of legal areas, please call the Marin San Francisco Lawyer Referral Service at (415) 989-1616. Certified by the California State Bar Association, the program provides referrals to qualified lawyers. Preliminary consultations are available at discounted fees. Bilingual attorneys are available.
Lawyers in the Library
This program offers free 20-minute consultations at the Marin County Law Library every second and fourth Thursday of each month from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Any person without an attorney living in Marin County or having a case in the Marin County Superior Court is eligible. Sign-ups start at 3:30 p.m. on a first come, first served basis. Address: 20 North San Pedro Road, Suite 2007, San Rafael. Phone: (415) 472-3733.
Legal Aid of Marin
